Finding a good place to eat in NYC can be super overwhelming. There are SO many options and so many people soliciting for you to check out their restaurant. Don’t get drawn into tourist traps, follow my short guide with some of my favorite restaurants. I have considered all of the most important factors, taste of food being priority; but also service, atmosphere, speed and cleanliness.
I don’t live in NY but have so many friends that do and have introduced me to these great places. So they have been tested by our “finer pallets” 👌🏻.
I have separated the restaurants by neighborhoods and have input their addresses so if you’re on the go and hungry plug em’ into your GPS 😊
Since this is where most tourists go first, I figured I’d start here. I’m always going to the theatre so when in midtown I want to make sure I choose a restaurant that is on top of things so I can make it to my show but also don’t compromise atmosphere or food quality.

This is one of my all time favorites on restaurant row. The Boeuf Bourguignon is to die for and the French Onion Soup Burger is NYC Wine & Food Festival’s, Two Time Judges Choice Winner. You must try it! Its a small place so call to make a reservation. With dimmed lighting, wood walls and the beefy fragrance in the air you’ll feel like you’re in a back alley restaurant in Paris.

This place is super convenient and has a mixture of multiculturally influenced food. My favorite being the Pork Tenderloins. Its a bistro-like atmosphere with quick service.

I’m not sure about you but I’m an “eat-dessert-before-dinner-kinda-gal” so naturally I love this place. They have homemade chocolate turtle bark right when you walk in, so even if you can’t get a seat, you can have a treat. YUM! They serve Italian food and their main dishes are almost better than their chocolate. They have family style options so that can cut your costs a bit because it can get pricy if you’re hungry.

I wouldn’t call it the BEST pizza in the city but its pretty good and its famous for NO SLICES. Great for before the theatre a real family spot!

With four great locations Grey Dog is such a great place to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner. I love their veggie bowls! Super hip atmosphere very casual but serves coffee, beer and wine.

Iconic Deli downtown any sandwiches you get is 500x better than you could’ve ever imagined. And don’t forget Matzo Ball Soup! (:

The coolest Indian Fusion food you have ever had. The flavors are unreal! My favorite was the Edamame Artichoke Chaat. The artichokes tasted just like chicken and with the best seasonings ugh! Yum!

Cute little brunch place, there are two locations one on the East Side and on the the West side. I love the atmosphere and the food is great unique options but I always stick to omelette with ham and cheese but it was exceptional.
These are some of my favorites but there is so much more to discover! Stay tuned for updates!
